Essentials and TWT


The Intel© Teach  Leadership Forum, Essentials, Thinking With Technology courses are not currently scheduled, but NYIT can assist any educational agency in New York State to plan and deliver customized versions of all three courses. 

The Leadership Forum, Essentials, Thinking With Technology courses provide teachers with a foundation of skills to fully integrate technology into existing classroom curricula and promote student-centered learning. Delivery options are fully face to face or hybrid online/face to face. Teachers who take the course will complete a fully developed, standards-based unit plan with assessment embedded throughout for a curricular unit in the subject they teach. The result is student engagement in standards-aligned, technology-supported projects that promote the use of digital age skills.


Intel© Teach Essentials
The goal of the Intel© Teach Essentials Course is to help classroom teachers develop student-centered learning through technology integration and project-based approaches. Course themes include: Using technology to promote 21st century skills, Identifying ways students and teachers can use technology to enhance learning through research, communication, collaboration, and productivity strategies and tools, Providing hands-on learning and the creation of curricular units and assessments, which address standards, Facilitation student-centered classrooms tha encourage student self-direction and higher-order thinking, Collaborating with colleagues to improve institution by problem solving an participation  in peer review of units. 
The option to earn 3 graduate credits at a reduced rate of $355 from NYIT is available for this course. Teachers taking this course for graduate credit will be entered into EDIT 701 Contemporary Strategies for Technology Integration in Curriculum.

 

Intel© Teach Thinking with Technology
Teachers in Thinking With Technology look at how they can use the Internet in new and constructive ways with students. The course helps teachers learn how to integrate into their curriculum unique online thinking tools that enable students to visually represent their understanding of complex and interconnected issues.
The option to earn 3 graduate credits at a reduced rate of $355 from NYIT is available for this course. Teachers taking this course for graduate credit will be entered into EDIT 702 Critical Thinking and Communicating with Technology


Intel© Teach Program Leadership Forum
The Intel© Teach Leadership Forum helps education leaders plan, promote, model, and support the effective integration of technology as a learning tool. The course presents a major focus shift from simply using technological tools for integrating technology to improving teacher effectiveness in support of improved student achievement. The forum focuses on specific, concrete steps leader can take to support this initiative an provides hands-on experiences with technology, resources, and standards.
